10 Cubic Yards
10 Yard Dumpster Rental in Jackson, MS
Our smallest roll-off, sized for a single room, a small bathroom gut-out, or a load of concrete and dirt — not a truck you have to plan your whole driveway around. Same-day delivery when you call before noon.
- 10 ydCapacity
- 3 pickup-truck loadsPickup loads
- 1–2 tonsWeight allowance

The 10 yard is built for jobs that are real but contained: one bathroom, one room, a garage purge, or a pile of concrete and dirt that a pickup truck bed would take three trips to move. At 12 feet long, 8 feet wide and 3.5 feet tall, it holds about three pickup truck loads on a 1-2 ton weight allowance — enough for a focused project without paying for volume you will never fill.
It is also the size we recommend most often for heavy, dense material like broken concrete, brick, tile and dirt, where weight fills the box long before the walls do. If your job is spread across multiple rooms or involves a full remodel, you will likely want to step up to a 15 yard dumpster. This page will help you figure out which side of that line your project falls on.
What fits in a 10 yard dumpster
- Single bathroom gut-out (tub, vanity, tile, drywall)
- One-room cleanout (bedroom, office, den)
- Garage purge and general junk removal
- Small concrete or brick patio tear-out
- Dirt removal from a small excavation or foundation repair
- Attic or closet cleanout
- Light landscaping and small yard debris
- Small deck board replacement (not full demolition)
Dimensions, footprint and where it fits
At 12 x 8 x 3.5 ft, the 10 yard has the smallest footprint we deliver — it fits on a single-car driveway apron, a narrow side yard, or a tight lot in older Jackson neighborhoods where a longer box simply will not sit without blocking a garage door or sidewalk. Plan on roughly 14-15 feet of clear pad length for the container plus room for our truck to lower it without scraping a fence or parked car.

What actually fills a 10 yard
A single bathroom gut-out is the classic 10 yard job — tub, vanity, toilet, tile and the drywall around it, all from one room. It is also the right call for a single-room cleanout (a bedroom, a home office, a den full of old furniture), a garage purge where the goal is clearing out years of accumulated stuff rather than renovating the space, or small yard cleanup that does not need a full yard waste container.
Where the 10 yard really earns its keep is on concrete, brick, dirt and other heavy, dense debris. A patio tear-out, a small driveway apron replacement, or a load of excavated dirt from a foundation repair will hit the 1-2 ton weight limit well before the box looks full. If you know your job is dense material rather than bulky-but-light junk, this is usually the more economical size — a bigger box just gives you more room for material you cannot use anyway once the tonnage caps out. See our concrete and heavy debris page for more on how we handle loads like this.
10 yard vs. 15 yard: which one to book
The two sizes are close in footprint but different in what they are built for. The 10 yard is one room or one dense-material job. The 15 yard is the step up for a kitchen remodel, a basement cleanout, a small roof tear-off, or a deck removal — projects that generate more volume across a bigger area, even if the material itself is lighter per cubic foot than concrete or dirt.
A simple gut check: if you are working in one room and the debris is mostly heavy (tile, tub, concrete, dirt), the 10 covers it. If you are opening up two or more rooms, tearing off a roof, or clearing an entire basement, go with the 15 yard instead — the cost difference is smaller than most people expect, and running out of room mid-job means paying for a second haul.
Placement notes for Jackson driveways and lots
Because the 10 yard has the smallest footprint we offer, it is usually the easiest size to place — but Jackson's Yazoo clay soil is still worth planning around, especially for concrete and dirt jobs. That clay shifts noticeably between wet and dry cycles, and it is a common reason driveways, patios and slabs crack or settle in the first place, which is exactly the kind of job that fills a 10 yard with dense material. We put driveway boards under every container we deliver as a standard part of the job, not an add-on, so the weight of a loaded box is spread across the boards rather than concentrated on your driveway surface.
For a lot near downtown, Belhaven or Fondren with limited street frontage or an alley approach, call ahead and describe the access — our driver can usually make a tight lot work with the 10 yard's shorter length even when a 15 or 20 could not.
Local fit
The 10 yard in Jackson driveways
James Healy has been running Healy and Son Dumpster Rental out of South Jackson since 2011, and the 10 yard is the size that moves fastest off the Greenway Drive Ext yard — it is small enough to place on almost any lot in Jackson, from a tight driveway near Belhaven or Fondren to a newer property out toward Byram. It is also the size we point homeowners to most for concrete and dirt work, since Mississippi's heavy Yazoo clay soil shifts with the wet-dry cycle and is a frequent cause of the cracked patios, walkways and small slabs that generate exactly this kind of dense debris.
If your bathroom gut-out or garage cleanout turns up old paint, solvents or other household chemicals, those cannot go in the dumpster — the City of Jackson's Household Hazardous Waste program is the right place for that material, and the City of Jackson Trash & Recycling page has general guidance on what the city handles curbside versus what needs separate disposal. We deliver and haul 10 yard boxes throughout Hinds, Rankin and Madison counties, call-first, flat rate, no surprise fees.

10 Yard dumpster questions
Is a 10 yard dumpster big enough for a bathroom remodel?
For a single bathroom gut-out, yes — tub, vanity, toilet, tile and the surrounding drywall typically fit within the 10 yard's 3 pickup loads and 1-2 ton allowance. If you're renovating more than one bathroom at once, or combining it with other rooms, step up to a 15 yard.
Can I put concrete or dirt in a 10 yard dumpster?
Yes, and it's one of the best uses for this size. Concrete, brick, tile and dirt are heavy and dense, so the 10 yard's 1-2 ton weight limit fills up long before the box looks full. For larger concrete or dirt jobs, ask us about a dedicated load — call (769) 246-8432 and describe the volume.
Will a 10 yard dumpster fit on a narrow driveway?
In most cases, yes. At 12 x 8 x 3.5 ft, it's our smallest and shortest container, and it's usually the easiest size to place on a tight driveway, side yard or lot with limited street frontage in older Jackson neighborhoods.
What's the difference between a 10 yard and a 15 yard dumpster?
The 15 yard is longer and taller, holding about 4-5 pickup loads on a 2-3 ton allowance versus the 10 yard's 3 loads and 1-2 tons. The 10 fits one room or a heavy-material job like concrete; the 15 fits a kitchen remodel, basement cleanout, small roof tear-off, or deck removal.
Do you put boards down to protect my driveway with a 10 yard box?
Yes, on every delivery regardless of size. Driveway boards go under the container as standard, not an upsell — that matters especially on older Jackson driveways sitting on our area's Yazoo clay soil, which can already be under stress from wet-dry shifting.
How fast can I get a 10 yard dumpster delivered in Jackson?
Same-day delivery is available when you call before noon. We're locally owned and operate our own trucks out of South Jackson, so we're not waiting on a broker to dispatch someone — call (769) 246-8432 to check same-day availability.
